PURPOSE: This page is intended to give a brief
overview of the wireless capability available in Port
Trinitie to computer users. The narrative and pictures are based on a
Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 2) operating system enabled
Personal Computer (PC). |

1. Ensure that your computer has a wireless
capability and that the Wireless Capability Switch is ON (If PC is
equipped with this feature). |
|

2. Right Click Wireless Network Connection
icon in Lower right hand corner of screen (select View Available
Wireless Networks - Go to Step 5) or Open the Windows XP Control
Panel and click on Network Connections. |

3. Hoover mouse over Wireless Network Connection
icon under LAN or High-Speed Internet section |
|
|
|
|
4. If you get “No wireless network found” message
ensure your wireless capability is turned on and try again. |
|
|
|
|
5. Under Network Tasks (Left Panel) click
on View Available Wireless Networks |
|
|
|
|
6. Select a Wireless Network e.g., OBXwan.30
& click on connect at bottom of page. |
|
|
|
|
7. Using your Web Browser click on => File
=> Open Web Location => OBXwan.30 (Sequence varies based on the
Web Browser on your PC) |

|
|
|
8. Click on New User to see OBXwan
Rates for unrestricted access to the Internet via wireless in the
Duck area. Before proceeding with the New User Sign Up you might want
to visit the OBXwan Walled Garden (Step 9 below) to get the favor of
interfacing to the Internet via a wireless provider in Duck (use Back
Arrow to return to Main OBXwan screen (Step 7) to access the Walled
Garden). |

9. Click on OBXwan Walled Garden (near
bottom of page - see Picture in Step 7) for “Free” Controlled Access to
specific sites in the Duck Area only |

|
|
10. At end of your session Close your Browser |
|
|
11. Close wireless connection by using Wireless
Network Connection screen and selecting Disconnect or use Wireless
Network Connection icon in Lower right hand corner of screen and
right click the icon selecting disable |

12. Turn Wireless Capability Switch OFF (if PC is
so equipped and this is your normal preferred mode). |
